With every big movie in Hollywood coming out in digital 3D these days, it was only a matter of time before thta experience started coming home, into your living room. The big question on everyone's mind is... price. We know it will happen, we know it'll be soon but it would seem that no one knows the price. One thing is for sure, you'll need a new tv, a place to store your new glasses and quite possibly a new cable box too. 2 televisions stations, a gaming console and some blue ray players are coming in 3D in the next year or so... The PS3 is the next big surprise to bring 3D gaming to not just new games, but all games available on the console (we'll see just how true that really is). Engadget tried it out and said it was great, and even posted a video but really, what good is video? You really have to try it to know what it's like. Still though, I'm almost more excited about 3D gaming than I am about Microsoft's Natal project. Blue Ray movies are just logical devices when you think of a 3D movie as they have the capacity and speeds required for to give you the best picture there is (currently). The BDP-S770 is expected to be the first 3D backward compatable Blue Ray player, but of course, you will still need to play it on a new 3D television. All in all, it's a very promising start... although it may end up being costly having to replace most everything we have to watch anything new in 3D, but if we can start getting these 3D movies into our living room, it may be worth it... especially the gaming! |
