FfvB v2
v 2.2.5

The ultimate vBulletin message board extension for Firefox is reborn. If you use Firefox, if you visit vBulletin message boards, you must give this a try.

Introducing the new FfvB Facebook Fan Page!  Please become a fan today and share your experiences, feedback and suggestions. FfvB started out with 1 idea, to have an ignored user's threads ignored as well as their posts. Since then, it's grown to what it is now thanks to user input such as yours! Let's keep it going!

Ignore Features:

With FfvB, you can ignore users, threads, prefixe and keywords.
Users: Ignoring a user will strip their posts, threads and even their quotes out of the page as if they never existed! It even works on the newreply.php page where it shows you a streamlined list of posts under the textarea.
Threads: If you wish to place a thread on the ignore list but don't want to ignore the person who started it, right click on the thread and place it on ignore. This will strip the thread out of the thread list.
Keywords: You can place a 'keyword' on ignore and any instance matching that keyword will be removed, including threads, posts and quotess.
Avatars and Sigs: vBulletin comes with options in the UserCP to turn off Avatars and Signatures but this is a universal function, meaning that ALL avatars and signatures will disappear. If you wish to place a select few on ignore but not all, right click on them and put them on your ignore list.

Highlight Features:

Converse to ignore, you can now place items on your highlight list, making things much easier to find. You can highlight a user, a thread, a prefix or keywords. Highlighting users will highlight their threads, posts and quotes within other user's posts.
Highlighting keywords will highlight the thread or post, but also the actual keyword that it matches within the text. Should a keyword match and become highlighted, the filter will still continue and highlight the thread or post the color of a matched user or thread while still keeping the keyword itself highlighted. This adds an extra level of highlighting!

Bottom Bar:

For added convenience, a bottom bar is automatically attached to the bottom of Firefox when visiting vBulletin sites. This is a feature which can be turned off in the preferences.

On the bar you will find the breadcrumb navigation (forum drill down links), page navigation, handy links (search, usercp, new thread, new reply) as well as some handy links for working with FfvB itself.

Also, the color of both the background and text is customizable to match your favorite board.

Subscriptions:

You can now "subscribe" to your favorite forums (even if they're just subforums) and view all of the thread lists in a single tab. Each forum will auto reload at intervals of your choosing (30s, 60s, 120s, etc) and are displayed in easy to read black on white text with no images.

Sidebar:

Very closely resembling the subscriptions page, this feature loads a single forum's thread list into Firefox's sidebar so that you can continue to see threads being created and bumped as you browse other sites.

Import/Export:

New in 2.2.3, there is now a feature in the preferences where you can simply copy and paste your FfvB saved lists from one installation to another and your information will be available in each copy of Firefox!

Replacement Boxes:

If you've ever ignored someone using vBulletin's ignore feature, you will recognize the replacement box stating "this user is on your ignore list, click here to view"...

This feature is off by default, but you can enable it in the preferences and all ignored users, threads, prefixes, keywords, avatars and sigs wil lbe replaced with a box stating what was ignored and why, with an option to view.

Magic Paste:

On forums without the "enhanced textarea" which shows images directly within it, magic paste (on by default) will automatically add the [IMG][/IMG] tags when pasting a jpg, gif or png into a post.

is it possible to have the subscribed threads in the sidebar?

also, clicking on a thread in a sidebar does not go to the first *new* post, but rather to the first post. i think this should be at least an option.

If the forum list provides a link to the 'last post' within it's thread list, then yes this is a possibility. However if they have disabled that functionality on the forum that you visit, then that information will not be retrievable by the FfvB extension.

The same goes for subscribed threads... not all forums have indicators to show which are subscribed to and which aren't.

This is a very good request though, something I will add to my todo list.

Probably the best Firefox add-on since AdBlock.

Any chance you'll ever make this extension for Chrome, too?

Thanks for your hard work.

I have actually started work on getting this into Chrome. I have the submenu complete and have begun work on thread/post detection.
However, Chrome's extension system is extremely different from Firefox's and a lot more limiting as well.
I can't make any promises on when it will be complete but it is at least a work in progress.
And thank you for the compliment.

Thank you so much for this great extension. The forums I visit have suddenly become much more pleasant. Now, if I add someone to my Ignore list, I no longer see their posts, even when I'm not logged into the forum, or see people quoting them! Brilliant.

I'm struggling with an easy way to see updates to my favorite threads and quickly go to the new posts.

The subscriptions are nice but don't show me unread posts/threads or even the timestamp of the last update. This makes it hard to make sense of the results.

Also, my side-bar doesn't seem to be updating. Sometimes it does but I can't make sense of why it does sometimes and not others.

Maybe I am just misusing something. I'll keep trying...
